red fruit smoothie

Have you ever heard of smoothies? Smoothie is the drink that we Brazilians call a vitamin. I particularly love this word because it describes exactly what they are: smooth, creamy, yet super refreshing. This summer is super hot, so this smoothie is the perfect option to cool off.

Spinach, like kale and other dark green leaves, provide more nutrients per calorie than any other food, containing high doses of vitamins and minerals, with just one cup of spinach providing 10 times the recommended daily allowance of vitamin K and three times the recommended daily allowance of vitamin A, which is great as vitamin K helps maintain bone health and regulate blood sugar levels, and vitamin A is essential for strengthening the body's immunity against infections and promote healthy skin.

Berries are high in fiber and contain phytonutrients that have been shown to increase metabolism in fat cells (fat cells) to fight excess weight. They are also rich in vitamin C and manganese, which are important for maintaining good immunity and healthy metabolism. They also have a low glycemic index, which aids in weight loss and best of all, they are absolutely delicious. In this recipe I used frozen raspberries, blackberries and strawberries, but as raspberries are a little difficult to find, use whatever you have at home, it won't harm the flavor or the nutritional value.

Chia is a superfood that is extremely high in fiber and promotes satiety as it absorbs up to 10 times its size in liquids, making you feel fuller for longer. It is also rich in omega 3, an anti-inflammatory component that is good for heart health and delays premature aging.

Ingredients:

1 cup of almond milk

1/2 cup of blackberries

1/2 cup of strawberries

1/2 cup of raspberries

1 ripe banana

1 cup of spinach (leaves only)

1 tablespoon of coconut oil

1 tablespoon of chia seeds

1 tablespoon of flaxseeds

Preparation:

Just put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until everything is smooth and creamy. I used frozen fruit so I didn't need to add ice, if you are going to use fresh fruit add 2 or 3 ice cubes.

Serves 2 glasses
