"Chuco" weight loss morning

by | 20/02/15

I would like to introduce you to this new drink that is the creation of a great friend and patient who became an expert in healthy cooking after just three sessions with me. She combined therapeutic and delicious ingredients like paprika, ginger, lemon and maple syrup (or maple syrup) with water and made what her husband calls “chuco” (a combination of tea + juice = chuco). It's lightly sweet, with a hint of citrus lemon and spicy ginger, absolutely delicious and rich in antioxidants.

She drinks a cup each morning to speed up metabolism and aid weight loss, as paprika and ginger are thermogenic and help burn fat, and lemon helps eliminate toxins. She started doing it and now everyone in her household has joined, including her beautiful 5-year-old son, Eloy. In addition, we noticed incredible improvements in the immunity of the whole family and, even added to some other changes, my friend/patient has already eliminated another 8 kg.

Last holiday we got together at her house to test some recipes like gazpacho, lemon risotto with asparagus with pesto, banana ice cream and coconut with mango and all were successful! Soon I will post some of them here!

While we were talking about different diets, your husband showed me this book because he wanted to know more about the Paleolithic diet. Interestingly, this is a question I get asked often, so I'll talk one more about it in the next post. Not to lose, sign up here to receive by email.

And if you are concerned about your weight, what have you been taking to help you lose it?

"chuco"

3 cups of boiling water

3 slices of ginger (approx 2cm)

½ lemon juice

1 teaspoon of maple syrup (or honey, agave, sugarcane syrup)

1 teaspoon of spicy paprika

Add all ingredients to a pot or other container with a lid and let stand for half an hour or more to mix and intensify the flavors. It can be drunk hot, warm or cold.

Hi Marcella, lately I'm seeing many recipes with 'mayple syrup'. Where do you buy this?

Hi Clara! You can find Maple Syrup in health food stores or some markets in the imported products section! Don't forget to check the label that it's 100 pure %, as some options contain only 15% of Maple and the rest of glucose syrup.

    Hi Marcella, how are you?
I have hypoglycemia and should avoid honey, so could I switch to stevia (the leaf or the sweetener itself)?
    Your blog is wonderful!
    Big kiss!

Hello Delly! How's it going with you?

You can switch to Stevia yes, it's a great natural sweetener option. Adjust the amount according to your taste!

Thank you and I'm glad you're enjoying the blog!

      Kisses!

I met Marcella through a lecture she gave at UVV on healthy and conscious eating, that day I decided to rethink everything I thought I knew about these topics. As I was never very good in the kitchen, my diet was practically street food and as I went to the gym, and I ate a lot of chicken, I thought I was shaking, super healthy. Sweet mistake! The truth is that I was never 100% satisfied with my body (although I don't think any woman ever is), I felt bloated, even eating “right” and suffered a lot from cramps and headaches. After participating in Marcella's coach, a lot has changed and many good things are yet to come. Today, in addition to the slight dryness on the shape, I notice that my skin is silkier, I rarely feel bad, I read the ingredient labels, I go to the fair (which I thought was boring), and the best part: I'm slowly learning to cook 😀
Small changes that saw big results.
Now I want to try chuco lol.
